Minecraft 1.18.2 Warns of End of 32-bit Support

Minecraft has received update 1.18.2. In addition to introducing many fixes, the patch announces the imminent end of support for 32-bit systems.

Minecraft Java Edition has received another update. Patch 1.18.2 brings some new features to the game, fixes many bugs, as well as an important warning.

Players who run the game in the latest version will certainly notice a message waiting for them in the main menu. The developers warn about the imminent end of support for 32-bit systems.

The latest version of Minecraft may be one of the last that will run on devices with that type of architecture.

What's new in 1.18.2?

In addition to the aforementioned warning, the latest update for Minecraft introduces many fixes and a few new features. Below is a list of the most important changes.

  1. South Korean players will now be notified if they sit in front of the computer for too long (we reported about this feature previously in snapshot 22W06A).
  2. The placefeature command has been added to the game, which enables us to place a selected object in a specific location.
  3. New configuration options for caves generated in the game world have been added.
  4. Any object present in registries (e.g. blocks, objects, biomes) can now have tags.
  5. Approximately 100 bugs reported by players have been fixed (the list of fixed bugs can be found here).
