Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake Officially Announced [UPDATE]
The wait for fans of the Metal Gear Solid series is over, and the rumors have been confirmed. PlayStation Showcase 2023 brought the official announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake and the presentation of its trailer.
Why "Delta" in the title? As we read on the Twitter channel of Metal Gear, "Delta (?) symbol was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake. Delta means 'change' or 'difference' while keeping the structure unchanged."
Furthermore, the official press release included information that the remake will feature the original dubbing cast.
The next big PlayStation game show is underway, but there have already been a couple of interesting announcements. Today's PlayStation Showcase finally revealed the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - It is titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The announcement came in the form of an original trailer, which at the very end reveals that we are dealing with a Metal Gear game.
Rumors of a refresh of the third Metal Gear Solid had been making rounds for a long time, but it was only today that "three" (or "delta", as the game's title was changed) was officially confirmed. True, Konami has made it clear that it has plans for the brand, but after the latest game in the series, one might have feared another unambitious spin-off.
Unfortunately, aside from the title, the trailer doesn't reveal anything specific about the game. For now, no details on gameplay or release date were given. A PlayStation 5 debut has been confirmed, and general trailers also talk about a PC and Xbox Series X/S release.
In passing, an HD remaster bundle of the Metal Gear Solid trilogy has been revealed. Volume 1 at the same time suggests that Konami will by no means end with this one set.
