A veritable plague of layoffs has been affecting the video game industry recently. Just yesterday we informed you about job cuts at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts, and earlier, for example, at Naughty Dog, CD Projekt or Crystal Dynamics.

Today, in turn, we receive information that a large part of the crew of the British studio Media Molecule, which has been part of PlayStation Studios since 2010, is going to say goodbye to their jobs.

As reported by Sports Illustrated's GLHF, citing its informants, an internal meeting was held today at the company's headquarters to inform employees that the company intends to say goodbye to roughly twenty people.

It is worth noting that Media Molecule currently employs 135 developers, which means that the studio plans to part with up to 15% of the current lineup.

Let me remind you that the developer made a name for itself in the video game market in 2008, when it released the first LittleBigPlanet. In addition to the series about Sackboy, he is also responsible for another PlayStation exclusive, Dreams, which has received extremely favorable reviews, but its development was extinguished more than a month ago.

Currently, the company is working on another, as yet undisclosed game. Unfortunately, the only thing known about it is that it will in no way relate to the developer's latest work mentioned above.
