- We already know the size Mass Effect: Legendary Edition on PlayStation 4;
- The game, together with the 1.01 update, will take about 68 GB (US market) or 87 GB (European market);
- This is up to three times the size of the original release of the trilogy.
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is a remaster of the popular RPG trilogy from BioWare. The devs promise a lot of changes, which are supposed to bring these games closer to today's standards. However, we will pay for the improvements in textures, animations, and other elements with disk space. It turns out that the new version of the games will take up more than twice as much storage as the original edition. PlayStation Game Size Twitter account reported that the size of the title on PlayStation 4 is, depending on the place of distribution 67.987 GB (U.S. market) and 87.366 GB (European market).
Adding to these numbers is the size of the 1.01 update, which is also already known. In this case, it also varies by region and is 11.7 GB (US) and 13.3 GB (EU), respectively. Adding up both elements, you can see that American players need to prepare about 80 GB of disk space, and European players as much as 101 GB.
The size of the original release of all three games is roughly 33 GB. So, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition "grew" by about 70 GB. It should be remembered that the remaster will offer numerous improvements and all the DLCs that were released for the game. The players can except access to 44 extras, which include both cosmetic elements and large story expansions.
Given the amount of content, the size of the game should not be a big surprise. Pre-load of the title will begin on May 12. The release, in turn, is scheduled for May 14. In addition to PlayStation 4, the game will also appear on PC, Xbox One, and S/X, as well as PS5.
