Little Nightmares 3 Likely in the Pipeline; Great Sales of Previous Parts
Bandai Namco has hinted that work is underway on the next Little Nightmares game. The developers of the previous installments, Tarsier Studios, will not be involved in this project.
Bandai Namco, publisher of Little Nightmares, is apparently working on another game in the series.. The information was revealed by Twitter user SmackNPie, who came across interesting job offers, clearly indicating such a state of affairs.
Little Nightmares is a series of platform and logic games with horror elements, in which the player controls children trying to escape scary places full of monsters.
- The first part was released in 2017 and tells the story of a girl in a yellow coat named Six, trying to get out of the so-called Maw.
- The second part came out in 2021 and depicts the adventure of a boy named Mono, who, along with Six, ends up in a new place warped by a transmission coming from a distant, mysterious Signal Tower.
Both games were developed by Swedish developer Tarsier Studios and received a very positive reception from both critics, as well as players. However, for two years we have known, that Tarsier Studios will not be working on the third part of the series - the team, currently under the wings of Embracer Group, is focusing on new projects. Apparently, Bandai Namco intends to continue developing the brand with another team.
It is not yet known whether the new installment of Little Nightmares will be a sequel to the previous installments, or an entirely new game set in the same universe. Of course, we don't know the release date or target platforms. However, given that the previous parts of Little Nightmares have sold 12 million copies, the development plans for the brand do not surprise us at all. The second installment is currently available at a discounted price (e.g., on Steam).
