Little Nightmares 2 Becomes a Sales Hit
More than a million copies of Little Nightmares 2 have been sold in a month since its release, and the game is selling much faster than the first installment.
- Developer: Tarsier Studios
- Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment
- Genre: platformer
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XONE, Switch, also PS5 and XSX in the future
Tarsier has reasons to be happy. The team boasted that sales of Little Nightmares II exceeded one million copies. The result was achieved in a month since the release, as the game debuted on the market on February 11, this year.
The game launched simultaneously on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners can also play the project thanks to backward compatibility. Dedicated versions for next-gen devices are planned, but we will have to wait for them.
The game's success is even greater because the first installment, Little Nightmares, needed sixteen months to cross the sales threshold of one million copies. The sequel is doing much better. Of course, one of the main reasons for this is the fact that the first instalment made an excellent name for the brand and provided it with a large group of fans.
The commercial success of Little Nightmares II makes the creation of the third part inevitable. However, we already know that it will not be developed by the authors of the previous installments. Tarsier, the stuiod responsible for the brand's development, was bought out by the Embracer group some time ago, while Bandai Namco Entertainmanet owns the rights to the series.
The Japanese publisher will probably want to continue the series, but for this task it will need another developer. However, Tarsier is already working on a new IP.
