Bad News About Little Big Adventure Reboot
The reboot of the iconic Little Big Adventure has been scrapped. We also learned what's next for remasters of earlier installments in the series.

We have bad news for fans of Little Big Adventure, a series of two excellent action adventure games from the 1990s.
- The planned reboot of the brand has been scrapped.
- The reason is a lack of interest from publishers, and the project being too expensive for the studio, 2.21, to carry it out on its own.
- Problems arose already a few months ago, when the release of the reboot was delayed from 2024 to 2025, but few expected that everything would end with the complete abandonment of the project.
- As a consolation, the news remains that the developers are still working on Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered and Twinsen's Little Big Adventure 2 Remastered, which are refreshed versions of earlier installments.
- The remasters are much cheaper projects, so the creators hope to more easily find partners to develop them. Alternatively, they are considering getting support from the fan community, e.g. through Patreon.
- Unfortunately, the abandonment of the brand's reboot will force layoffs at studio 2.21, although it's unclear for now how big they will be.
- Nevertheless, Ben Limare, i.e. the head of 2.21, is not losing his optimism. The reason for this is the very good reception of the early version of Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered. In a survey, 33% of players rated the projectat 9-10 out of 10, and a total of 80% rated it 7 out of 10 or higher.
If you want to check out the remaster, head over to the game's tab on Steam and use the "Request Access" option. It is granted to all interested parties, as the testing is open. You'll have to hurry, however, as they will only last until July 31.
Finally, let's remind you that the remasters are being developed on Unreal Engine 5. In addition to improved graphics, they will offer new, more comfortable controls, but for purists, the option to play in the old system will be available.
