Leaked Videos of Deleted Futuristic CoD from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Studio
Footage from the deleted Call of Duty installment, which the now-defunct Neversoft studio once attempted to develop, has surfaced online.
I'm sure many of you know the Neversoft Entertainment studio, responsible for, among others, the cult series Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Videos have been leaked online confirming that the now-defunct producer was working on an unreleased part of Call of Duty.
Code-named NX1, it was supposed to be released on the seventh generation of consoles, namely Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, as Call of Duty: Future Warfare. It likely served as a precursor to the 2016 release of Infinite Warfare, given their shared futuristic theme.
Future Warfare gameplay leaks
Two short gameplay clips have been published on X (former Twitter). The first one, posted by user Josh H., presents an impressive fragment of the story campaign taking place on the Moon. It shows the player being forced to flee to a nearby base while being shot at by enemies.
The second video, shared by user Internet Crush, presents the multiplayer mode taking place on the map of a ruined desert city.
Even Brian Bright, a former Neversoft employee, commented on the subject. He explained that the mission to the Moon was created as part of learning the new engine and experimenting with gravity. Referring to the second material, he mentioned that the desert map was called "Sandstorm" and it was supposed to have an escort mode, something we only saw in Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War.
Additionally, Bright announced that the production he was working on was to follow Call of Duty: Ghosts, a game we already played. The creators delivered a few missions and part of the multiplayer mode before the final decision to abandon the title was made.
Neversoft Studio was dissolved in 2014 by Activision. It was subsequently merged into the Infinity Ward team.
