Former vice president, and now one of the Democratic Party candidates for the presidency of the United States, Joe Biden, in an interview with New York Times called one of the video game developers who work in Sillicon Valley a "little creep" who "was able to come up with games to teach you how to kill people."

"At one point, one of the little creeps sitting around that table, who was a multi- — close to a billionaire — who told me he was an artist because he was able to come up with games to teach you how to kill people," said Joe Biden, recalling his work on the so-called Communications Decency Act, a law to regulate the intellectual property of artists in the context of the Internet and platforms such as YouTube.

The US presidential candidate is of the opinion that there is a lot of arrogance in the attitude of technological giants - the presidents of these companies are convinced that they are the engine of the country's development, although in the opinion of Biden it is not so clear.

It is worth noting that in the past, the politician has already taken a critical stance on video games - in one way or another, he linked them with the acts of violence that often occur in the United States (although it is worth noting that he never did so directly). In January 2013 he suggested that people "shouldn't be afraid of facts" if research proves a link between games and shootings. A few months later, he also suggested that there are no legal contraindications to impose a special tax on developers of violent video games, the income of which would be transferred to victims of violence.

It should be recalled that to this day, no respected study has confirmed the link between watching violent films / playing video games and the tendency to violence.
