James Gunn confirms talks with Rocksteady and NetherRealm on new DC universe games
DC Studios CEOs have confirmed that they are in talks with Rocksteady and NetherRealm studios regarding new games featuring characters known from the comic book universe.

James Gunn and Peter Safran, the heads of DC Studios, organized a conference where they talked about the future of the adaptation of one of the most famous comic universes. Most of the event was dedicated to film and television projects, but the issue of games was also addressed.
- Gunn and Safran confirmed that they are in talks with Rocksteady Studios (developers of the Batman: Arkham series) and NetherRealm (developers of the Injustice series) regarding new projects.
- During these discussions, the CEOs of DC Studios were able to see graphic materials and explore gameplay concepts from projects in the very early stages of development. Gunn and Safran told these developers what types of stories this division needs.
- The unique aspect of the entire puzzle is that at least some of these games are intended to be set in the same DC Universe featured in movies and series. This calls into question new installments of the Batman: Arkham and Injustice series, although considering the popularity of both of them, an exception may be made.
In any case, we will have to wait at least a few more years for the first games set in the DCU, so a lot can still change during this time.
According to credible rumors, Rocksteady is already working on a new Batman game. Furthermore, it seems likely that NetherRealm is currently developing Injustice 3, as the studio's previous two titles were Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1. It's hard to imagine that the team would develop three installments of the same series in a row.
