Suicide Squad failure is still affecting Rocksteady Studios. Developer faces more layoffs
At the Rocksteady studio responsible for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, layoffs have been carried out for the second time in several months.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League turned out to be one of the biggest failures of last year. Despite this, the developers decided to complete the announced four seasons of new content. Work on the last, fourth, is almost finished, and probably for this reason, layoffs were carried out in the Rocksteady studio responsible for the project.
- The layoffs were scheduled to be carried out just before the end of 2024.
- We don't know the scale of employment reduction. The Eurogamer editors were able to reach out to several Rocksteady employees impacted by this. As a result, they found out that the cuts concern programmers and artists, as well as testers.
It's worth reminding that this is not the first layoffs at Rocksteady. The first wave of employment reductions was carried out at the turn of August and October 2024. Back then, the cuts were limited only to the quality control department.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was released in February 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5.
The game has so far received three free seasons of new content. The last one will launch on January 14th and with it, the development of the game will come to an end. However, the servers are to remain active, and players will be able to use the offline mode.
