Devs of Hitman and Upcoming Bond Game are Working on New IP
IO Interactive boss Hakan Abrak revealed in an interview with IGN that the company is working not only on the third installment of Hitman and a game about James Bond but also on a completely new IP.
In an interview with IGN, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, shared some information about the studio's future projects. Apart from Project 007, which was announced six months ago, the company will continue to work on the development of the third installment of Hitman, as well as a completely new game which will not be an adaptation or continuation of any existing IP.
Abrak said that the current size of the studio enables for comfortable work on multiple titles. The Danish company now employs over 200 people and has opened a several new locations. Long-term plans call for the number of employees to be doubled by the time the James Bond game is released.
As for the game in question, we will have to wait a few years for it to be finished, but the game will contain everything that the adventures of Agent 007 are known for: dangerous, life-threatening missions, spectacular car chases and exaggerated villains. Moreover, IO Interactive's work will not be based on any of the films, as the devs want to create their own Bond universe from scratch. The project is being developed in close cooperation with EON Productions - a British company involved in the production of Bond movies. As Abrak admitted, the last Hitman trilogy was one of the reasons why his studio received permission to use the license from studio's head Barbara Broccoli.
