Improved AMD Ryzen CPU May be a Bit More Expensive
We've learned the prices of AMD Ryzen CPU from the „Matisse Refresh” line. They were revealed by one of the largest French computer parts stores.
A French store reported prices for the new AMD 3000 XT series. They are to replace the currently available Ryzen 5 3600X, Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 9 3900X models. The prices of these models is interesting, especially considering the launch of new Intel chipsets. Of the three, only Ryzen 9 3900XT will be cheaper than its predecessor (€499 compared to €514 at this vendor), the other two XT models will be slightly more expensive than the current proposals - Ryzen 5 3600XT will be available for €319 and Ryzen 7 3800XT for €459. As far as their capabilities are concerned, based on the data from the shop, we can see raised processor clocks with the same number of cores, which should result in a performance gain of about 10%. This will contribute to a noticeable increase in speed in professional applications (where AMD is already really strong) and in games where the competition with Intel is still fierce.
While the prices may seem a bit high, the new CPUs should be accompanied by a price reduction of previous models, which still sell pretty well. On the occasion the launch of Intel Comet Lake-S chipsets, such a move as the refreshment of the Matisse line was pretty much necessary on the part of AMD.
