Summer Vacation With Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Delayed to Allow Players Enjoy Elden Ring DLC
We learned the release date of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail from Square Enix studio. The game's director gave this info, referring to the Elden Ring expansion.
We already know when we are going to play the Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. Naoki Yoshida, the director of both the base game and the fifth DLC, announced the release date and start time of early access, including the topic of the Elden Ring DLC in his speech.
- Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Early Access will start on June 28, 2024, at 9:00 AM (PDT).
- The official premiere will take place on July 2, 2024, on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
- From March 26, you will be able to pre-order the expansion. If we choose to purchase the pre-order, we will be able to begin playing in early access and receive appealing bonuses, such as a miniature Zidane figure from FF IX.
When announcing these key dates for Dawntrail, Yoshida said that early access was originally supposed to start a week earlier, but Square Enix's plans were thwarted by the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion to Elden Ring, which will be released on June 21.
Naturally, this explanation was delivered in a light-hearted tone and should not be taken seriously (even though the release date of Shadow of the Erdtree undoubtedly had at least some significance for Square Enix). In a humorous manner, Yoshida "gave" us a week to enjoy the DLC for FromSoftware's hit game, so that we could later fully focus on Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail.
Zidane mentioned earlier won't be the sole character from FF IX whose figurine can be collected. If we buy the collector's edition of the game, we will also receive Garnet. Perhaps this is Square Enix's way of suggesting that work is underway on a remake of Final Fantasy IX, which has been rumored for a long time.
