„I Don’t Like Violence.” Nicolas Cage Declared That He Won’t Play A Serial Killer Again
Nicolas Cage talked about why he won't play a serial killer again after his role in Longlegs.
The actor, who is no stranger to on-screen bloodshed at all, after all, having played Count Dracula himself, doesn’t want to play murderers again. Nicolas Cage has declared that we won't see him in a similar role again after his performance in Longlegs, a horror film that shows us a serial killer case being solved by an FBI agent.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Cage said that even if he is given similar roles, he will probably turn them down because he doesn't want to play characters who hurt other people. The actor isn’t fond of violence, even if it is only to be feigned for the role.
I know that the phone’s going to be ringing off the hook to play serial killers after Longlegs. And that’s not really what I like to do. I don’t like violence. I don’t want to play people who are hurting people.
If Nicolas Cage doesn't change his mind, Longlegs may be the last time we see the actor in the role of a serial killer, so it's probably worth taking interest in this production, which is currently available in theaters. In addition, it's getting great reviews from critics and viewers alike. On Rotten Tomatoes it boasts 87% positive reviews from the former and 64% from the latter, so it looks really good.
The actor will be seen in the future in Amazon's TV series, Noir, in which he will again play a variant of Spider-Man. In addition, he is also expected to appear in The Carpenter's Son. Cage, as you can see, isn’t resting and is taking on more projects, which will probably be worth looking forward to.
