The Crust - How to Get Oxides off the Ground
In The Crust, getting Oxides from the ground can sometimes be troublesome for many players. In our guide, you will learn how to achieve it.
The Crust is a game in which you will build your own base on the moon. In addition to managing research and automating production, your main task will be to collect valuable resources and minerals. One of them are Oxides. In our guide you will learn how you can acquire and pick them up.
The Crust – How to Mine Oxides
In The Crust, managing your outpost on the moon is very important, as the lives of the people who have settled on it depend on it. Your main task will initially be to extract the necessary materials to be able to create new facilities.
To do this, all you need to do is own mining drones that will do it for you. However, in order to create them, you first need to build a Drone Reconfiguration Module. With it, you can convert up to 5 drones into mining drones (and vice versa), allowing you to dig up land and extract resources.
Next, you need to assign resource extraction drones to supply the processing modules with materials. Go to Excavation Mode, select the Oxide you want to mine and assign as many drones as you want.
The Crust – How to Collect Oxides
What may be problematic is understanding how the drones will collect the Oxides. You may come across situations where many of them will just be lying on the ground, being all the time not acquired by you.
Your drones will automatically collect these resources if they have available storage space. Be aware that attaching a belt to your refinery disables the drones' manual addition of Oxides. To address this, re-enable manual input (select the two arrows option in the refinery menu) or ensure you have bulk storage for the Oxides. Remember, this task is of low priority, so the drones won't hurry to complete it!
