Hype Trailer Turns the Heat Up Before Gamescom 2021
Gamescom - one of the biggest gaming events of the year - is just around the corner, and if you weren't too excited about it so far, or just didn't know what to expect from it, then Geoff Keighley comes with a remedy in the form of a hot trailer for the event.
The famous Canadian journalist will once again serve as the host of the Opening Night of gamescom. The presentation will last about two hours and according to the plan more than thirty titles will be shown. The previous Opening Night (fully digital - just like this year's) attracted as many as two million viewers. The upcoming presentation has a great chance to beat this record. To further that goal, Keighley tweeted another of his trademark hype trailers (which he posts before every event he hosts).
Keighley also confirmed that among the many anticipated games we will see:
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- Death Stranding: Director's Cut (happy birthday, Hideo Kojima!)
- Far Cry 6
- Genshin Impact
- SIFU
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
- Saints Row
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
The last two items draw particular attention. While the new installment of the Saints Row series has been talked about for quite some time - and recently we even got confirmation that a reboot will be announced at gamescom - the new LEGO Star Wars game has been off the radar, specifically after the announcement that its release date has been delayed to an unspecified date. It's also possible that we'll get to see Take-Two Interactive's new brand, which is speculated to be a game that combines the mechanics of the XCOM series with the Marvel universe.
In addition to the above, the trailer also shows such games as Psychonauts 2, Fall Guys, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, The Artful Escape, Riders Republic, Forza Horizon 5, Back 4 Blood, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles or Battlefield 2042.
The icing on the cake will be a special performance by Lindsey Stirling with music from the upcoming Tales of Arise.
What do you think about the new hype trailer - are you excited? Either way, we'll find out tomorrow. The gamescom Opening Night will begin on August 25 at 11 AM PT. Watch it with us!
