How to Sell and Buy Items in Jagged Alliance 3 (JA3)

In the country of Grand Chien, the elected president is kidnapped, creating a power vacuum exploited by a paramilitary faction known as "The Legion." Jagged Alliance 3 starts with the President's daughter, who enlist the services of seasoned mercenaries to locate the missing leader and restore order. As the commander of this formidable military group, you must navigate through challenging missions and reclaim stability in Grand Chien. But to do that you will need money. At the same time, you will find many items during your travels. Players wonder if these two issues can be connected, to put it simply – can you sell items? And on the other side of the spectrum – can you buy them? In this guide we will answer this question.
Can you sell items in JA3?
You can sell some items. There are special valuable objects (mostly diamonds) which you can sell from your inventory. Simply right-click them and you will see an option “cash in”. You can sell also selected items in special places. For example, small diamonds to some NPC. You can also sell Parts at Fleatown. But it is not profitable, and we don’t advice that.
Sadly, most equipment in the game cannot be sold, but it can be used. There are no unnecessary objects in Jagged Alliance 3. They all can be used as parts, gear upgrades and so on. Even bags of Chien money have purpose. Don’t destroy them (you may use them as currency). So, without “junk” you do not have a lot of things to sell. Simply turn your old weapons into something useful if you don’t need them.
Are there shops in JA3? Can you buy items?
Yes, there are shops. Nevertheless, they are rare. To find them you need to liberate the biggest cities. You will find there some people willing to trade. Their wares will be on the ground, and you can buy useful items interacting with them, like in the case of any other object in the world. The only difference is that you will lose money in exchange.
The big market is at Fleatown. So if you want quickly unlock shops, try to conquer this location.
