Hot Changes in Helldivers 2. First Teaser of New Update Made Players Happy
Arrowhead studio will not only bring back the old flamethrowers (including visually) but will also buff them. Players are already rubbing their hands at the thought of the warm welcome that awaits bugs and bots when the new update launches.
Update (September 11): The Arrowhead Game Studios team has released a second "teaser." It seems that the developers will indeed be treating us with individual changes every day until the release of the update. Today's post reveals that the experimental RS-422 Railgun will also receive a lot of love, dealing significantly more damage.
Arrowhead Studio will undo the changes in flamethrowers introduced in the Helldivers 2: Escalation of Freedom update. As stated in the official announcement published on the game's Discord channel and on X, the devs plan to remove the unpopular "realism fix" in the new version, which will be released on September 17th.
Furthermore, flamethrowers will be buffed. Firstly, the damage dealt by them will increase by 33%. Secondly, the flames will finally work on heavily armored enemies like the infamous Chargers.
This is the first point of probably many that the devs intend to reveal in the week leading up to the debut of the new update. However, it was enough for the players to react with enthusiasm. It's hard to be surprised because the change introduced in Escalation of Freedom was criticized even by the biggest supporters of Arrowhead Game Studios. The fact that flamethrowers were unable to fry Chargers, Titans, or other Hulks, according to many people, was a crying shame and had nothing to do with the "realism" declared by the developer.
The devs also confirmed the return of the old visual effects of flames, which also pleased the players. This raises hope that Arrowhead studio has truly taken the community's feedback on HD 2 to heart this time, and the new update will be what Escalation of Freedom was meant to be in the first place.
Of course, some fans are still being careful and attempting to predict the nerfs that will counterbalance this generosity from the developers. Nevertheless, these voices are in the minority and the first of the announced changes sparked great enthusiasm. Especially since the devs are already speaking about the next ones.
