Horizon Zero Dawn 2 May Be a PS5 Launch Title
New job offers in Guerrilla Games suggest that the team is working on Horizon: Zero Dawn 2. It is speculated that the project could be a launch title for PlayStation 5.
Horizon: Zero Dawn proved to be one of the best PlayStation 4 exclusives, and the game was a big hit, so it's only a matter of time before we get a sequel. Recent reports suggest that the second installment is planned and may be one of the launch titles for PlayStation 5.
The source of this speculation are new job offersavailable at Guerrilla Games, the studio responsible for the franchise. The team is looking for a designer with experience in creating open-world quests. Artists and specialists in animation systems and physics are also needed. All advertisements mention an unannounced project.
It is worth recalling here that a few months ago actress Janina Gavinkar, who provided voice for Tatai, a character from Horizon: Zero Dawn - The Frozen Wilds, revealed that the second installment of the series is in the pipeline. Rumors to date suggest that the continuation would have its debut in 2021. However, Game Rant speculates that Guerrilla Games' pace of growth makes it possible to release the game at the end of next year, and Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 would be an exceptionally strong launch title for the new console.
It should be added that a year ago Guerrilla Games was looking for employees for a project with RPG elements. It is not known whether this is a separate production or whether the developer plans to enrich Horizon: Zero Dawn's continuation with such mechanics, just like what Ubisoft did in the latest installments of the Assassin's Creed series.
Horizon: Zero Dawn made its debut in February 2017, exclusively on PlayStation 4. The production was a great success, selling more than 10 million copies.
