Sony is set to release a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn, confirming the rumors that have been circulating for some time. The refreshed version of the game from 2017 was announced during today's State of Play show and aroused a lot of emotions.

The reason is doubts about whether Zero Dawn needs a remaster at all. Many believe that the game from Guerrilla Games studio looks good enough without needing a rejuvenating treatment, as it is still a relatively new title. Is there really no room for improvement here?

The devs promise several changes, including improved character models, enhanced dialogues (with 10 hours of re-recorded conversations), higher resolution textures, and improved controls that make use of the capabilities of the DualSense controller. How the mentioned changes look in practice is partially answered by a comparative material of the old and new versions of the game, prepared by a YouTuber under the nickname Cycu1.

However, it's hard to find words of admiration for the remaster in the comments section under the published video. Many users even think that the original looked better than the refreshed version. In their opinion, the characters in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered look more artificial. Among the comments, there are also opinions that the new-old game offers only warmer colors and more grass. The topic of Bloodborne couldn't be missed, as fans have long been asking for a remaster of the game.

Horizon Zero Down Remastered will be released on October 31 this year. The game will be available on PC and PlayStation 5 console. Those who own the earlier release on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the Remastered edition for an additional $9.99.
