Horizon: Forbidden West Will Have its Own Gwent
Horizon: Forbidden West will feature a virtual tabletop game, enabling us to play party games with NPCs.
Guerrilla Games apparently decided they wanted their own Gwent. It turns out, that Horizon: Forbidden West will feature a virtual tabletop game, in which we can compete with NPCs.
The information comes from the official support website of Horizon: Forbidden West. We can read there that the virtual game will be called Strike and will be played with wooden and metal figurines modeled on machines from the franchise's universe.
During the game, the player will get the opportunity to play matches against many characters inhabiting the world of Horizon: Forbidden West. Moreover, one of the gadgets added to the special boxed editions are to be Strike figurines.
So far nothing is known about the gameplay mechanics of the mini-game. It is also difficult to assess how complicated it will be. Gwent showed that a well-executed idea of this type can significantly enhance the game, so we hope that Guerrilla Games will offer something equally good.
Horizon: Forbidden West is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and is scheduled for release on February 18, 2022. Unfortunately, the purchase of the standard PS4 edition will not entitle us to receive a free PS5 upgrade. Such an attraction is to be reserved only for the Digital Deluxe, Collector's and Regalla editions.
