Released in 2018, the investor-builder simulator House Flipper was a huge success, moving over 2.1 million copies. Now its co-creators, i.e. people from the Krakow-based studio Frozen Way, are working on something very different. The next project of the team is Honeycomb, a survival sandbox, enabling us to play the role of a bioengineer. The production's set to hit PC and so far we don't know when it's going to debut.
The action will be set in the distant future, when the ecological state of Earth has reached a dramatic level. Governments recruit the most talented young scientists and send them on a mission to an alien planet, hoping to find salvation for the cradle of humanity.
The task of the bioengineer will be mainly studying alien fauna and flora, collecting samples and conducting experiments. We'll be given a laboratory to initiate mutations and thus create new resources, animals and plants.
During the game we'll observe the events from first-person perspective. The planet will quickly turn out to be a dangerous place, where it will be easy to die when we come into contact with local flora and fauna. We'll also face unknown diseases which will require creating new cures on our own.
In Honeycomb we'll be setting up and developing many bases in different places of the planet. We won't lack the possibility to construct devices, including vehicles, and improve technology. Gameplay will be sandbox-like, but there will be also a main storyline. A secret key will be hidden on the alien planet, leading to knowledge that can save Earth.
