Hogwarts Legacy With Great Success in Europe; Launch on Par With RDR2
According to the latest figures, Hogwarts Legacy's debut in Europe alone was a big success, and in its first week the title even beat the sales of last year's hit Elden Ring.
Less than a week has passed since the official release of Hogwarts Legacy, but it is already clear that the game's debut was a success. The title beat the competition on Steam, and stores were under siege - so much so that the game sold out in some places.
Hogwarts Legacy close to record.
If one is to believe the words of GamesIndustry.biz editorial chief Christopher Dring, Hogwarts Legacy in its premiere week in Europe achieved a 56% better sales result than last year's hit - Elden Ring.
The release of the game from the Harry Potter universe is expected to be on a comparable scale to the phenomenal sales result of Red Dead Redemption 2 from 2018.
Also in the UK alone Hogwarts Legacy was the undisputed number one (via GamesIndustry.biz), besting such games as God of War Ragnarok or FIFA 23, at least considering only boxed editions.
Hogwarts Legacy is clearly on the rise, and sales will increase even more, especially after the game's release on the next three hardware platforms: PS4 and XOne (April 4) and Nintendo Switch (July 25).
