As reported by sources of Insider Gaming, the next installment ofMetro from Ukrainian studio 4A Games is at an advanced stage of development, as evidenced by the fact that the game is reportedly already fully playable. This, in turn, as journalist Tom Henderson rightly notes, gives hope that the project will see an official announcement later this year, with a tentative release date window set for 2024.

Unfortunately, this is not information confirmed by the developer, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt. While waiting for a possible announcement from 4A Games, it is worth keeping a close eye on the official website (link below) and the studio's social media (e.g. Twitter).

Recall that the work on the next installment of the popular series was first mentioned right after the release of Metro Exodus in 2019. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic and later the Russian aggression in Ukraine caused the work on the game to slow down significantly. Fortunately, despite the difficulties, the developers at 4A Games have not abandoned the project - as they recently informed on their website. Instead, they modified it and slightly adjusted to the current realities in their homeland.
