Dynamic Pixels unveiled a new trailer for Hello Neighbor 2. The centerpiece of the video is an advanced AI system that will use machine learning to change the behavior of the titular neighbor and other characters.
- Hello Neighbor 2 will offer advanced AI for the eponymous neighbor;
- The game will go on sale on PC, Xbox One and Series X|S in 2021.
Hello Neighbor 2 will debut this year on PC, Xbox One and Series X|S. Dynamic Pixels showed off its title during yesterday's ID@Xbox Showcase. The new trailer for the game, which is currently in alpha stage on PC, focuses on the advanced artificial intelligence of the game's characters.
In the sequel we play the role of a journalist who decides to investigate the house of the titular neighbor - Mr. Peterson. The core of the gameplay will remain the same as in the first part - discovering interesting things in the house and avoiding its owner. The novelty is a more advanced AI system, which is based on machine learning.
How will it work? The system will analyze the levels played by the community and the AI will use them to modify the behavior of the neighbor to make our lives more difficult. The above video shows the changes that occur over the course of several analyzed rounds. In contrast to the first installment, in Hello Neighbor 2 the system will also manage the remaining residents of the town.
On paper, it looks impressive, but it's hard to judge how will it translate to the game's quality. The first installment of Hello Neighbor was, to put it mildly, not one of the best games that appeared on the market. Let's hope the studio does better with the sequel.
