After his death, Death (the character) is taken to the office. This is the place, where you can spend currency gathered during the game, test your weapons, look at things to unlock and simply rest between difficult fights. So, take some time and look around. If you go right, you will eventually come across a wall.

This wall features your difficulty level, just interact with it. You start on Imminent Breakdown (normal). Nevertheless, if you wish, you can pick Self Fulfillment. It is an easy mode. It is characterized by:

  1. Start the run with +3 Animas.
  2. Get +50% mac HP in the break room after defeating a Sorrow.
  3. Minions damage is reduced by -5%.
  4. Animas heal more with each death.

To pick it, you must “move the wall”, to do it just push the screen to left. If you want to choose Imminent Breakdown once again, just swipe it to the right. You can freely change difficulty between runs. So don’t worry and enjoy your game as you like. There is even an achievement connected with playing on the easy mode – Not Here to Suffer. So, if you want to max the title, you have to pick at some point Self-Fulfillment.
