Halo Reach is Microsoft's Best Debut on Steam

Microsoft boasted that the PC version of Halo: Reach did better on Steam than any other production released on the store under the Xbox Game Studios brand.

The return of Halo on PC was a great success.

Last Tuesday, the PC version of Halo: Reach debuted on Steam. The launch was a great success, which Microsoft illustrated with a number of stats. During the first week, a total of 3 million gamers played Halo: The Master Chief Collection (which includes this game) on PC and Xbox One.

Halo: Reach was the best-selling game on Steam last week. It was the best debut of a released by Xbox Game Studios on this store. Moreover, on the day of launch, the title was number one on Twitch. Last week, a total of 3 million hours of streams from the series were watched.

Microsoft also boasted that the project was very popular with gamers, as 92% of user reviews on Steam are positive. No sales figures were given, but according to estimates of the paid version of SteamSpy, the game is owned by more than two millions of Valve's platform users.

Recall that Halo: Reach is the first title in the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Players can buy the entire collection (for $39.99) or only selected items. If the latter option is chosen, Halo: Reach alone costs $9.99.

Devs need a lot of time to adjust the series to modern standards, so instead of releasing the entire collection, they decided to release subsequent titles in chronological order. That's why they started with Halo: Reach, which is a prequel. Then, we will get Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 (with the Halo 3: ODST campaign) and eventually, Halo 4. Unfortunately, the release dates of these productions on PCs have not yet been revealed.
