GTA Underground Mod Disappear After 6 Years of Work Due to T2's 'Increasing Hostility'
The creators of the GTA Underground mod have decided to suspend work on it. All this is due to Take-Two's „ increasing hostility” towards the modding community and fear for their own mental and financial well-being. Thus ends the six-year history of the project.
Take-Two has waged a war against the GTA modding community in recent months. Just a few days ago we wrote about the lawsuit the company filed against the creators of the re3 mod. Now we see the consequences of the publisher's actions once again. GTA Underground mod developed for 6 years will be abandoned, and all files related to it will soon disappear from the Internet.
One of the mod's creators published a post on GTAForums regarding the situation. It reveals that the decision was made due to the "imminent danger to mental and financial well-being" and Take-Two's " increasing hostility" towards the mod community.
In July, this year GTA Underground, along with a number of other mods (even several years old) for GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, was removed from modDB by Take-Two. The demand was based on the DMCA.
GTA Underground was a mod that combined GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas along with other Rockstar games such as Bully. In this way, the authors created a huge map on which we could visit the cities from all of the aforementioned games.
