GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Players Want Refunds; Rockstar Stalls

Dissatisfaction with the condition of GTA: Trilogy - Definitive Edition has led many gamers to demand a refund from Rockstar Games. However, contacting the publisher's support department about this issue is troublesome.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Due to the dire condition of the GTA Trilogy - Definitive Edition remaster set some gamers are demanding refunds;
  2. It turns out that contacting Rockstar Games about this isn't as easy as you might think.

The release of GTA: Trilogy - Definitive Edition turned out to be a complete fiasco. The technical condition of the remastered classics turned fell very short of expectations. Bugs, terrible performance and bizarre glitches led to the game being shredded, both in critics' and players' reviews. This state of affairs caused a significant number of people who have purchased this defective product to demand a refund from Rockstar Games. However, it is not as easy as it might seem.

Voices on Reddit report that contacting the company's support department does not bring the expected results. Instead of receiving a refund, players hear promises of imminent improvements to the Definitive Edition. In some cases, the contact breaks down completely, like for Hotdog_Noire, who submitted his request on November 15. One evasive reply from the publisher was followed by silence.

Reddit user Rapier1990 also described his frustrating experience while trying to get a refund. In this case, the contact with the support department was not broken, but the answers from the company were unsatisfactory, to say the least. Here's the conversation.

Comments of Internet users suggest that these are not isolated cases. One gets the impression as if Rockstar is avoiding responsibility for a defective product it released together with Groove Street Games. We don't know the exact number of refund requests or how many players have been treated this way, but if the "big R" doesn't want even more damage to its reputation, it should approach the topic with more commitment.
