One of the most interesting events of EA Play Live 2021 turned out to be the announcement of GRID: Legends, the new installment of the racing game series from Codemasters.
- Developer: Codemasters
- Publisher: Electronic Arts
- Genre: Racing game
- Platforms: PC, XONE, PS4, XSX, PS5
- Release Date: 2022
During EA Play Live 2021, GRID: Legends, the new installment of the popular racing series, was announced. Codemasters, which was bought out by Electronic Arts in February, is traditionally responsible for the project.
GRID: Legends is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, we still have to wait a long time for the game, because its release is scheduled for next year.
In the game we will be driving both on race tracks and on city streets. New locations include London and Moscow.
GRID: Legends will offer an expanded story mode, in which the storyline will be styled as a documentary, describing the season of the Ravenwest Motorsport team. In the course of the game, we will get to know the players with strongly outlined personalities and we will witness many conflicts within the team.
In GRID: Legends we will find more than 130 tracks, based both on real-life circuits (such as Indianapolis or Brands Hatch), as well as classic maps from earlier installments of the series (including those located in San Francisco and Paris). The players will have over a hundred machines at their disposal, as well as a complex system of upgrading them.
Apart from the campaign, there will also be solo races and online competition. There will also be a race creator mode, enabling the players to freely choose courses and cars from all classes. Moreover, drift mode will finally return, which fans of the series have been asking for for a long time.
