Green Hell – where to find mods and how to install

Green Hell does not have Steam Workshop support, which means that the players’ main source of mods will be Nexus Mods. The mods require manual installation, with some depending on the use of external software, such as Unity Mod Manager.

Increased Carry Weight

The mod by Fantus allows the player to set the maximum carry weight of their backpack to 75, 100, 150, 200 or 1000. The mod works in co-op play.

Instructions:

The tool Unity Mod Manager is required for installation.

1. Run Unity Mod manager, select Green Hell
2. Navigate to the folder where Green Hell is installed (containing GH.exe)
3. Extract the zip file with the mod into the folder or drag the zip file onto the “drag .zips here” box on the mods tab
4. Launch Green Hell.

Natural Reshade

1. Natural Reshade

A graphics mod by dagoncosmico, aiming to give Green Hell more realistic shading. The mod makes the game’s details look sharper and gives it a somewhat colder colour palette. You can also download the mod directly from Game Pressure.

1. GreenHell Tweaks

A multipurpose mod by Fakiz receiving frequent updates. The mod allows the player to disable building placement restrictions and modify following settings and parameters:

1. Max carry weight
2. Minimum character HP
3. How much dirt washes off during rain, swimming, diving
4. Movement speed for walking, running, crouching, overloading
5. Thresholds for carbohydrate, fat, proteins, water consumption
6. Capacity of water bowls

Instructions:

The mod requires the player to modify the ModConfig.xml file, which includes comments for each property to make the task easier.

1. Download the zip file
2. Open the Green Hell game directory
3. Create a backup of Assembly-CSharp.dll file in the Managed directory
4. Copy the Assembly-CSharp.dll and the ModConfig.xml files from the mod’s zip file with chosen properties to the Managed directory.

Greener Hell

A graphics mod by OKJaye which aims to make the game’s color palette more vibrant and colourful, and the jungle more lush.
