GPU Didn't Fit in the PC, so He Made a Hole in the Case
One Reddit user bragged about a design he created to fit a GPU into his PC case. As he says, he loves the ThinkStation's design and didn't want to change it.
On one of the subreddits, user hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr shared a photo of his PC, which momentarily sparked the interest of other internet users. The Reddit user cut a hole in the case to fit a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti inside.
If you, like the Reddit community, are wondering why the author of the post acted in such a way, then the answer is simple: he did it for aesthetic reasons - about which he himself writes in a reply to one of the comments.
"- So like... Why not get a real case?
- I actually really like the aesthetics of the Lenovo case. Nice lines and compact. Plus the real challenge wasn't the case, but the mainboard and PSU, so if I could keep the case I liked and make it work, that's what I wanted to do."
Many other Reddit users agreed that ThinkStation cases have aunique character, plus the one owned by hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, is one of a kind - all thanks to his ingenuity. Of course, there are also some skeptics who ridiculously commented that "he can afford 3080 Ti, but not a good case".
There was also a question about the temperature that the components reach after such a modification. As the creator answers, it is 70-80 degrees Celsius when it comes to the graphics card. The redditor did not measure the CPU temp, but as he says, it probably works at slightly higher temperatures now.
Of course, this is not an isolated case, where someone bought a GPU that he did not fit into their case. Several such "specialists" bragged about it in the comments under the post. However, user hurrrrrrrrrrrrr decided to follow the "improvise, adapt, overcome" rule and created a one-of-a-kind case.
