We live in good times for racing game enthusiasts. After Assetto Corsa Evo, now we have a chance to play Tokyo Xtreme Racer (at least most of as, as the game is not available in Canada due to legal issues). TXR was released a few hours ago on PC in early access. Of course, many people would like to play this game on consoles (not with friends, though). Will it be possible? Let’s talk about it.

Console release of Tokyo Xtreme Racer (TXR) explained

There are many platforms to play on. Some people prefer PC, others enjoy consoles more, last but not least, many play on their mobiles, too. We are all connected as players. However, the world is not ideal and due to various reasons games do not launch on all devices simultaneously. As of now, Tokyo Xtreme Racer is available only on PC in early access. Will it change?

Developers did not announce any plans regarding this. However, taking into consideration the roots of the series, it is quite likely. Up until now, games from Tokyo Xtreme Racer series were always released on consoles, either on Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo. So, it is probable that the game will be ported at some point, it is difficult to say on which devices, though. If it happens, it will be no sooner than the end of the early access period. In the notes on Steam, we can read that EA should last around 4 months. It means that we can expect information about ports around that time.

Of course, it is nothing written in stone. Developers may decide that they will not port the game for some reason. We have to wait for official information. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
