New Rumors About Length of God of War Ragnarok

We will be able to spend about 40 hours in God of War: Ragnarok. This is the unofficial information obtained by a well-known industry insider.

The release God of War: Ragnarok is already around the corner; we have just over a month left. As the debut approaches, more and more unofficial information about the game itself is hitting the web.

Recently, a rumor surfaced online that GoW: Ragnarok will weigh almost twice as much as the previous part of the series. Now we have information that this will not equal twice the amount of time spent in the game - according to reports of a well-known industry insider Tom Henderson the latest installment of Kratos' adventures will last a maximum of 40 hours.

Shorter means better?

Tom Henderson, citing his sources, claims that 40 hours is the time required to complete Ragnarok in 100%. Completing the main story thread is expected to take about 20 hours.

The insider even provided detailed information on how much time will be spent actually playing versus watching cut-scenes.

And so, citing Tom Henderson:

  1. The main plot will take 20 hours, of which 3.5 hours will be cutscenes;
  2. all side quests will take a total of 20 hours, of which 1 hour is cutscenes.

If this information is confirmed, it will mean that the latest installment of the series will be nearly 10 hours shorter than its predecessor in terms of all additional content. According to How Long to Beat a completionist would need as much as 51 hours to complete God of War from 2018.

While the source of the information seems credible, it should be remembered that these revelations have not been officially confirmed or denied in any way. The final length of the game's playthrough will also depend on the skill and gameplay style of the player.

What God of War Ragnarok looks like and how long it will take to complete it, we will find out on November 9, when the game debuts on PS5 and PS4.
