Google's Ads Earned Billions in Last 3 Months
In the first quarter of 2020, the Alphabet group, which includes Google, recorded an increase in YouTube revenue. The difference is over 30% compared to last year.
Google's results for the first quarter of this year were published online. The results show that YouTube revenue has increased by one third, to more than $4 billion. Total revenue from Google's ads was around $33.7 billion this quarter. After deducting all expenses, the company made $6.8 billion. Earnings per share also increased (by 3.8%, giving us $9.87). The company's total income was USD 41.1 billion, 13% more than last year.
One would think that the pandemic only provides the company with an increase in revenue. Not exactly. The cost of maintaining Google as a recommended search engine has increased from $6.8 billion to 7.4 billion.
Does increased advertising revenue mean increased earnings for people running channels on YouTube? Unfortunately not. On the contrary, there are voices on the web saying that their earnings are falling. So this isn't the best time to become a YouTuber.
