GTA 6 Release Remains Unthreatened, Take-Two Confirms. Fifth Part Sold 205 Million Copies
Take-Two shared important information about GTA 6 and the fifth installment. Furthermore, it announced the sale of Private Division Group to an unknown buyer.
Take-Two Interactive announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, revealing a 2% increase in net revenue to $1.47 billion and a net loss of $366 million. The report mentioned Grand Theft Auto 6. Once again, it has been confirmed that the game from Rockstar Games studio will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles in the fall of 2025.
Unfortunately, it wasn't mentioned when we can expect the publication of the new trailer for GTA 6 or the disclosure of a more precise release date. Instead, we learned that GTA 5 has already sold 205 million copies, which is 5 million more than the previous quarterly report. Also, the Red Dead Redemption series has sold a total of 92 million copies, with 67 million of those being from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Private Division Sale
Furthermore, as reported on GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two Interactive has sold Private Division for an undisclosed amount. The buyer, who has acquired the rights to all published and unpublished titles within this initiative (including Kerbal Space Program 2, The Outer Worlds, and Tales of the Shire), will be revealed "soon." However, it should be noted that Take-Two will continue to support the action RPG No Rest for the Wicked.
