Ghost Recon Breakpoint Launches; Non-cosmetic Microtransactions Gone
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint made its debut on the market. Interestingly, the devs decided to remove microtransactions that speed up character progression from the game.
The release of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the latest installment of the popular shooter series by Ubisoft, has finally taken place. The game was released on PCs, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles . On PC, the game skipped Steam - it is available only on Uplay and Epic Games Store. The devs are also planning to publish a Google Stadia edition.
During the tests the players complained about microtransactions affecting the gameplay, but the full version debuted without the option to purchase skill points, weapon improvements and raw materials. However, the paid elements accelerating character progression will return at a later date. The devs explain that their earlier appearance was a mistake, because these solutions are designed for players who will join the fun many months after the release and want to catch up quickly with veterans.
First patch made its debut along the game. It introduces optimization improvements, so that the game works much better than during beta-tests. In addition, the update improves Artificial Intelligence, voice and text chat, interface and weapon fire sound effects. Several bugs have also been fixed.
The devs intend to develop the game intensively after the launch. There are three episodes with new content planned, including additional adventures, raids and weapons. Some of these attractions will be available for free, while the rest will have to be paid for.
In order not to divide communities into paying and non-paying, groups players with a season pass will be given the opportunity to invite people without a season pass to play and the game will not restrict in any way the ability of the other group to win prizes.
