In August last year, the industry was shocked by the announcement of the end of Game Informer magazine, the most popular print publication about games. Soon after, even the old materials were taken down from the official website, suggesting the definitive end of this periodical's 33-year history. That's why we happily welcomed the news about the revival of Game Informer.

  1. It's not merely about new people taking advantage of a famous brand. The creators of its earlier version are responsible for the magazine's comeback. All employees who were in the editorial office when Game Informer was closed will return. They will also receive salary increases and overdue promotions.
  2. The return of the magazine was made possible thanks to Gunzilla Games, which bought all the rights to Game Informer.
  3. The magazine's new owner is a studio specializing in developing games using blockchain technology. Nevertheless, the Game Informer editorial team will work as an independent legal entity and have complete autonomy in writing content and choosing topics.

The new Game Informer is to be published in both paper and digital form. At the moment, it's not known when the first issue will go on sale. The journalists only informed that the new version will be bigger and better than the previous one.

The official website has been revived, where all previously deleted materials have been restored. Moreover, the editors have just published 29 new game reviews, which have been released since the magazine was closed in August last year. An article was also added with a selection of the best games of 2024.
