11 bit studios shared a new trailer for Frostpunk 2 last week - the sequel to the warmly received 2018 post-apocalyptic city-builder.

Despite this, many gamers began to turn their noses up at the company's limited reveal of content about the new game. Earlier this week, however the developer unveiled a range of information related to the upcoming game. Among them was the approximate release date.

One-year wait

Summarized in an aggregated post on Steam, the information was originally provided by the developers during last week's investor call. Thanks to this, we know when to expect the reveal of new, more tangible news related to Frostpunk 2.

According to the announcement, the first press screenings are expected to take place as early as August and September industry events, such as gamescom. The public gameplay show, on the other hand, has been announced for early autumn this year (i.e., presumably late September/early October). The developers also confirmed that all major mechanics have already been completed, and the studio is currently focusing on external testing of early versions of the game.

Perhaps the most interesting piece of information, however, is the approximate release date, announced for the first half of 2024..
