Frostpunk 2 Delayed; Game Will Be Released After Summer
The company 11 bit studios needs more time to improve the game after comments from players who tested the beta version.
Frostpunk 2 will be released not on July 25, but on September 20. The Polish team 11 bit studios announced a delay in the continuation of their frosty economic strategy in a post published on the game's Steam page.
The developers said they are happy with the April beta tests (the average game rating by participants was 8/10), but the studio needs more time to address player feedback and add everything they believe is necessary to improve the game. Therefore, the release of the game was delayed by nearly two months.
What exactly do the devs have to prepare? The developer lists, among others: significant interface and “user experience” (UX) improvements, as well as additional building mechanics and new feature: Zoom Stories.
The specific changes will involve improving temperature-related systems, implementing more detailed and flexible workforce management, allowing for the reconstruction of districts after their establishment, ensuring that factions better match their narrative background, introducing a more intuitive HUD, and enhancing the overall readability of the interface.
As for "Zoom Stories," the mechanics are supposed to bring back what - according to beta testers - was lost after increasing the scale of the game: attachment to individual characters. The planned novelty is intended to allow a closer look at the daily life of the residents.
This is just part of the things that the developers will be working on in the coming weeks. They will also need time for essential refinements and additional testing (recently, some players were able to test the game after the initial changes and gave positive feedback on these improvements). Fans have no choice but to arm themselves with patience.
