A popular representative of the now niche genre of dungeon crawlers, Darkest Dungeon 2, lived to see its first expansion, titled The Binding Blade.

Priced at $10, the add-on introduced into the game primarily two playable character classes, namely the Duelist and the well-known (and liked) crusader from the first part.

  • The Duelist can "tactically switch between defensive and aggressive stances," using counters in combat and attacks that can ignore enemies' defenses, making her easy to find a place for her in any composition.
  • The returning crusader prefers to fight in the first row , and yet remains a very versatile class. In addition to the now legendary paralysis and fighting with holy fire, he can also assist the team either by healing their wounds and stress or by thrusting his sword into opponents.

It is worth noting that the new characters in Darkest Dungeon 2 have their own unique items and fully dubbed stories, within which we will encounter flashbacks and take part in special battles.

In addition, The Binding Blade introduced a miniboss to the game, the Mighty One, which roams the map.

These are not all the new features and changes that have made their way into Darkest Dungeon 2 along with The Binding Blade. For more details, I refer you to the game's official website.

Darkest Dungeon 2 debuted in early access in October 2021, with version 1.0 released on May 8, this year. The game is currently only available on PC. Red Hook Studios' gamehas 76% positive ratings on Steam out of more than 11,700 reviews issued (and 90% positive reviews in the last 30 days).
