The post-apocalyptic FPS with survival elements, long anticipated by many players (56th place on Steam in terms of wish list presence), will be getting a demo. The game creator has listed many changes coming to the shooter Road to Vostok, often called the "Finnish STALKER," making it more than just a small "sample."
The independent studio Road to Vostok, run by a single developer (former soldier) who occasionally receives help from others, will release their game on October 1, 2024, which is tomorrow. Let's note that the demo can be downloaded on Steam. In the gameplay, elements such as will appear:
- improved artificial intelligence of enemies;
- task system;
- armor system;
- crafting system;
- mines;
- new weapons;
- new medicines;
- improved tutorial.
This, however, isn't everything. The map, controls, and reflections (e.g. in water) will be improved. The dev also prepared loot to collect in the field, a new merchant – the Doctor, as well as dynamic sound effects and starting sets with equipment. You can watch how these new features appear in action in the three videos below, which have been published on the game's official YouTube account in the past few/several weeks.
The survival FPS doesn't have an official release date yet. However, looking at the roadmap prepared by the developer, the new features discussed in the update of the current demo version are the last point of the first phase of game development. The next stage will focus on the development of the title in early access, and this is set to start in the third quarter of 2024.
