Press Played Final Fantasy XVI; Impressions are Overwhelmingly Positive
Selected journalists had the opportunity to play the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI - the game is praised, among other things, for its combat system. On this occasion, new gameplays have also appeared on the web.
Premiere of Final Fantasy XVI is slowly approaching, so Square Enix has decided to acquaint selected media with a fragment of the game focused on combat. Thanks to this very positive previews are hitting the web, as well as gameplay footage shared by the press.
As stated by the developers of the 16th part of the Final Fantasy series, the several-hour demo was a special version of the game prepared for the media, and its content may differ from what will be seen by players in June. Below you will see new gameplay footage and get an in-depth look at the impressions of Final Fantasy XVI in videos published by IGN and Eurogamer.
Those who had a chance to play the demo of Final Fantasy XVI, praise above all the spectacular combat system. Clashes take place completely in real time and they are extremely fast and impressive. No wonder - the combat mechanics are supervised by Ryota Suzuki, who worked, among others, on a truly spectacular Devil May Cry 5.
Those who are not familiar with games focused on such fast-paced skirmishes, however, do not have to worry, because Final Fantasy XVI will offer two modes: action-oriented and story-oriented. These will replace the standard difficulty levels, although this doesn't mean that opponents will be merciful. The story-focused mode will give us access to certain rings from the beginning of the game, which will offer such benefits as slowing down time in battle or performing perfect dodges. The media finds this system quite impressive.
The summoning of Eikon powers has also made a goodimpression on the press. Although only one can be used at a time, it is possible to switch between them, so the player is able to perform spectacular combos. In addition, each Eikon has its own skill wheel, and the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI, Clive, will be given access to multiple weapons and armor.
Final Fantasy XVI will debut on June 22 on the PlayStation 5 console, with the game also expected to hit PC at a later date.
