Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment in the trilogy of remakes of the iconic FFVII, has received great reviews but hasn't been without its share of various issues at launch. It seems that the biggest of them is the poorly optimized performance mode. Square Enix is aware of its imperfections and promises that its quality will soon increase.

As announced by Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (via OneMoreGame.ph), a patch optimizing the performance mode is on the way.

We've received a lot of feedback on whether the graphics in the performance mode will be improved or not. We hear you, and we are currently working on an update patch to improve that aspect. I don't think the release date would be far away from now.

At first, Hamaguchi didn't want to reveal any details, but under the pressure of further questions, he noticed that the patch will fix, among other things, the lighting system and character models, which can look bad under unfavorable conditions (a broader explanation of this problem was taken care of by one of the FF series fans on Reddit).

The FFVII Rebirth director was also questioned about his preferences for the choice of graphics mode in the restored adventure of Cloud and his companions. In response, he stated: "I like to play other games in graphics mode as well because I like to see better graphics."

Hopefully, the upcoming performance mode improvements will please players who prioritize higher animation fluidity over visual experiences, unlike Hamaguchi.
