FF7 Rebirth - Installation Failed Error Explained

Even though the technology moves forward faster and faster, it doesn’t mean that everyone has equal access to it. There are times when moving data around on physical media, like DVDs for example, can be faster and cheaper than using the Internet. This does not always hold true, however, as many players experience problems with installing Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth on their consoles. FF7 Rebirth Installation fail explained

If you have been waiting to play FF7 Rebirth as soon as possible, you may be unpleasantly surprised, if you chose to install the game by using discs. There are reports from fans from all over the world that the installation is prone to failures effectively not letting you to play the game.

Players have noticed that while trying to install the title from disc, it fails with error ce-100005-6. It often happens at either 27% or 57% of installation progress. Official PlayStation support site regarding said error message does not help unfortunately, as it advises restarting the console and inserting clean, compatible disc. Following those instructions sadly does not help as the problem persists.

This is not the only issue with the FF7 Rebirth discs. Even though it most probably affects only Asia region, there have been misprints of the discs“Play Disc” has been labelled as “Data Disc” and vice-versa. So, if you can’t start installation at all, you can try swapping the disks.

For now, if you experience problems with installation, your best bet is to contact the vendor that sold you the game copy and request a new one. There are fans who claim that doing so allowed them to install the title correctly. Good luck!
