Fear Effect Sedna’s demo is live on Steam
Thanks to the newly released demo you can now try out Fear Effect Sedna, another installment in Square Enix's classic action-adventure series. This game, however, is more like Shadowrun Returns when it comes to gameplay
About a year after the first announcement of Fear Effect Sedna – the next installment in Square Enix’s classic action-adventure game series started in 2000 – the developers at Sushee are ready to share some early results of their work. Unlike the two previous games, this one is a pausable real-time tactical strategy inspired by Shadowrun Returns. Fear Effect Sedna has just got a free demo on Steam, letting you try out how the new gameplay formula works for the game.
When it comes to story, Fear Effect Sedna is set four years after the original game, featuring well-known characters, but in a bit different roles. Here’s an excerpt from the official game description:
Hana, freed from the Triad, lives with Rain in Hong Kong and works as an occasional mercenary, while Deke has grown apart from them since Glas returned to the US. Hana accepts a small mission for a shadowy organization asking for her services. Her target: a mysterious ancient statuette held by the Chinese ambassador in France. She sees it as a good opportunity to visit her birthplace... But this 'easy' mission is about to lead Hana to something way bigger than she expected. Meanwhile Glas is approached by a client who catches his attention enough that he soon sets out for Greenland. How will these events bring the old team back together?
Fear Effect Sedna was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter last year. Back then the game was promised to launch in mid-2017. Considering that the playable demo is already live, the final release can’t be far off.
