Faraday Cages Sold as Protection Against 5G
Recently, anti-5G structures started appearing on Amazon. Will the „Faraday Cage 5G Shield” for routers, as they are proudly named by vendors, conquer the hearts of sceptics of the new standard?
The 5G network has many opponents, openly speaking about its alleged damaging effects. Fortunately, the market brings another solution to the problem, after sheaths that block electromagnetic waves. These are constructions that are supposed to work similarly to a Faraday cage, into which the router should be placed. The sellers assure about blocking 90% of electromagnetic waves emitted by the network device, including 5G signals.
People who are at least superficially interested in physics have certainly heard about Faraday's cage and how it works. It is a structure made of metal mesh, on the surface of which both electric charge and electromagnetic waves spread. A correctly made "5G blocker" should prevent the use of the router. Meanwhile, the "Faraday Cage Shields" sold on Amazon only limit the range of the device. Interestingly, most post-purchase reviews are negative - customers complain, among others, about the unavailability of Wi-Fi signal. Well... the description didn't lie, now did it?
5G sceptics disappointed with the effectiveness of "Faraday Shields" from Amazon will have to wait for a new miracle of technology, enabling us to filter harmful electromagnetic waves, while not interfering with the operation of electronic devices. Some law of physics suggest that they may not live to see such an invention.
