Ray Tracing and DLSS in Nintendo Switch 2 (Rumor)
Nintendo Switch 2 with ray tracing and DLSS? New leaks suggest the use of Ampere technology in the console.
Speculation about the new Nintendo Switch 2 console is starting to pick up pace. The latest leaks, which appeared on 4chan, suggest that the the device may feature a custom Tegra T239 processor from Nvidia.
According to the available information, the new console is expected to have performance of 4 Teraflops (by comparison, current versions of the Switch have power around 0.4 Teraflops). There is also a possibility that the GPU in the Tegra T239 processor will use the Ampere technology, which means the possibility of using ray tracing and DLSS technologies in the latest games.
Another mentioned feature is support for HDMI 2.1 with 24 Gbps, 4K 60 fps output, 256 GB of internal memory (compared to 32/64 GB in the original Switch) and a faster type of external memory. This would make data reading and writing comparable to that of the Samsung Galaxy S22.
Speculation also includes updates to games - both new ones that will natively take advantage of the Switch 2's greater power, as well as older ones that will be artificially scaled when the console is connected to a docking station.
All this information comes from an unconfirmed source, so they should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if they turn out to be true, the Nintendo Switch 2 could offer significant improvements over its predecessor. We eagerly await official information from Nintendo, which we hope to see in the near future.
