Fans Believe That Dragon Age Veilguard Already Hints at Next Series Installment. They Have Good Reasons for This
Will the fifth part be developed faster than we think? Gamers are looking for clues and conspiracies in a certain easter egg.
Dragon Age: Inquisition was released in November 2014, which means we had to wait almost ten years for a new game in the Dragon Age series. Despite the limited number of decisions carried over from previous installments, The Veilguard serves as the conclusion to the history of the elven pantheon, which has given rise to many conspiracy theories.
The more careful investigators may indeed come across some clues. Someone in Tevinter was very interested in the previous heroes of Thedas... the question is, for what purpose?
Criminal mysteries of Minrathous
One of the discoverers of the easter egg is a user named padreco, who shared his findings on the Dragon Age subreddit. While exploring the Minrathous docks and destroying the cardboard boxes standing in your way, you may come across a hiding place with a conspiracy board that Charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would envy.
The most striking elements are the symbols representing the protagonists of the previous games in the Dragon Age series. On the board, we will see a sketch of the Archdemon, symbols representing Kirkwall and the Inquisition, as well as Solas's dagger referring to Rook - the main character of The Veilguard. The fourth painting connects to another image, depicting an unfamiliar shadow.
The players who commented started forming theories about the paintings and their connections. Smaller pictures could also point to our travel companions, in addition to the obvious references to our characters. User NmZura presents the most complex comment, explaining the potential significance of not only the drawings but also the connecting threads.
NmZura believes that red threads symbolize the travel of all protagonists between locations, as exemplified by Hawke from the second part - his journey encompassed both Ferelden and Kirkwall and the Skyhold from Inquisition. Following this logic, the last, fifth image is an announcement of a new protagonist and a game planned by BioWare.
The remaining threads can then represent characters intertwining throughout the entire story. The author of the comment mentions, among others, Varric, Solas, as well as Morrigan and Flemeth - with the ancient witch playing a significant role in all three games.
Meanwhile, BioWare has announced that they have no plans to expand The Veilguard and instead want to focus on the fifth installment of the Mass Effect series.
